Serving All With:

  • Conviction
  • Compassion
  • Commitment

Because liberty and justice for all, means ALL.

The 60th District needs a fresh voice at the table, someone who will represent the needs and rights of all the people, not just those at the top of the economic ladder and those in power.

DONATE

THE ISSUES

Taxes

I will advocate for a “just” tax system. A just tax system unburdens those who make less and would tax at a higher rate those who receive most of the benefits from our economic system.  Though there may be some wealthier individuals in the 60th District, most of us are located firmly on the middle and lower rungs of the economic ladder. I know, because I came from the lower rungs right here in Emporia.

Voting Rights

All citizens have the right to vote in our elections.

Please register to vote by visiting
https://www.kdor.ks.gov/apps/voterreg/ and have a plan for voting. Whether by mail or in person, have a plan.

Women’s Reproductive Rights

Over 63% of the 60th District voted against the Value Them Both Amendment in 2022. That vote needs to be respected. I will respect the vote of the people and a woman’s right to Reproductive Healthcare.

The LGBTQ+ Community, Hispanic/Latino Community and all who are mis-characterized as minorities need a strong ally in Topeka.

All people are created equal and in this nation are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. As your representative I will see all people as who they are and listen to them to understand what they want from their government.

Education

No matter the level of education we achieve, education is the key to success for all persons, by creating opportunities for all. We need to increase our funding for Public Education, teachers and staff, including fully funding Special Education. I will not support school vouchers, because they take away funding from our Public Education System.

Economy

Like a flat tax system, the economy is only favoring the wealthy. The middle class and working poor deserve a living wage, affordable healthcare and a public education system insuring their future.

Environment

Climate change is real and the earth deserves justice. Farmers have known environmental justice for centuries, the need to let the earth lay fallow. It is no different for the atmosphere. We must address climate change by moving boldly into renewable energy that don’t pollute, that allow the earth to breathe.

Medicaid Expansion

Over 70% of Kansans want to expand medicaid and so do I. Providing access to high quality affordable healthcare through Medicaid Expansion is a no brainer. Medicaid Expansion will create a healthier workforce. It is a job creator and will provide needed revenue for rural Kansas. The 60th District is rural Kansas.

Medical Marijuana

80% of Kansans favor legalizing Medical Marijuana. Over 70% favor legalizing marijuana completely. Legalizing medical marijuana will offer another option for patients and doctors to treat illnesses.. Legalizing marijuana will relieve our prison population. Legalizing marijuana will be a cash crop for Kansas.
